OSLNH Flood Update

In the early hours of January 7th, 2022, the Residents and Staff members at the Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home experienced a major catastrophe. At this time, we had a massive flood throughout our facility, in which we had to enact our emergency preparedness plan and evacuate all of our residents to the Prairie Winds Casino.  With the help of our amazing staff that were on duty and others called in, we were able to ensure the safety of our residents. The Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home had a great outreach of help from the community. We are extremely thankful for everyone that helped us overcome this difficult ordeal. We would like to thank the Native American Health Management, the Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home Board of Directors, the OST Vice- President, Emergency Management, Nebraska Fire Marshall, Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, OST Department of Public Safety, the OST Roads Department, and the Prairie Winds Casino. We would also like to individually thank our staff members who were here and those who came to help at that time.

The renovation process will be starting very soon. We will keep you posted on the progress of the facility. Meanwhile, we will continue to ensure the best care possible for our residents.
